ExpressToll customers can add a rental car license plate number to their toll account.
To ensure the tolls are properly billed to the account, customers must follow a few easy steps.

Before driving a rental car, add it to your ExpressToll account and mark it as a rental with your start and end dates—this way you’ll only pay tolls and avoid extra rental company fees. Keep in mind that some rental agencies have non-removable ExpressToll transponders that automatically enroll you in their toll plan, so contact them if you have questions. If the rental isn’t added correctly, tolls will be billed through the rental agency, and Northwest Parkway users may face an additional processing fee beyond the toll charge.
Rental Car Tolls Billed Through Rental Car Agency
All major rental car agencies register their vehicles with ExpressToll. The rental car agency will bill the tolls to the customer based on the terms written in the rental agreement. In addition, rental car agencies may apply additional administrative fees for toll road usage.

Customers may opt-in at the counter or upon vehicle return, before the rental agreement closes. Customers who do not purchase PlatePass for their rental vehicle at the time of rental or upon vehicle return, but use cashless toll lanes without another payment method approved by the toll authority, will be charged an administrative fee of $9.99 per calendar day when tolls are incurred, PLUS the cost of each toll at the toll authority’s highest undiscounted rate. These fees and tolls are charged separately after the completion of the rental.
